WELCOME TO
AUBREY COUNSELING, PLLC

Congratulations on making a decision to focus on your wellness! You have taken the first step on the path to positive change. At Aubrey Counseling, our counselors use effective psychotherapy methods to work with you in order to provide an opportunity to gain self-understanding and encouragement to adopt new attitudes and feelings towards life situations. It is essential to keep in mind that therapy is not a magic pill or a quick fix: it is a healing process that necessitates participation and investment from client and counselor. But in the end, making small changes to self-defeating behavior and coping with feelings of sadness, fear, and pain can bring life-altering results.

“Though the hill is high, I still desire to walk up it. I don’t care how difficult it is, because I understand that it leads to the way of life.” -John Bunyan

Depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, trauma, PTSD, and sexual assault are issues that I specialize in. I work with Children, Adolescents, and Adults. Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, EMDR, CBT, Sand Tray Therapy, Expressive Arts, and Faith Based Counseling are treatment modalities used. I am a client centered therapist, meaning you are a partner in your treatment and your needs are uppermost in my mind.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is available on a limited basis through Horse Heaven US. EAP provides a team of therapists: mental health professional, equine specialist, and the horses. This team will help you discover solutions within yourself so that results will be life changing and long lasting. Insurance not accepted for EAP d/t location.
Learn to become authentic with yourself and with others. You will be a partner in your or your child's treatment, where the client is the focus. Call for your free phone consultation. Evening appointments available.

Amy Glover, MS, LPC Intern
supervised by
Sharon Beam, M. Ed., LPC-S

In 2011, after being a stay at home mom for eight years, I was led to resume my education and I knew it had to be within the world of mental health. I received my bachelor’s in psychology from Dallas Baptist University in 2013 and continued my education at Mid-America Christian University, receiving my master’s degree in licensed professional counseling in 2016, which included a practicum tenure at The Children’s Advocacy Center of Denton County. I have received training in Natural Lifemanship, an equine assisted approach to therapy, as well as Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).  My experience includes work with issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma, sexual abuse, church abuse, OCD, and adoption.

I absolutely love being a wife, mother, and homeschool teacher to my three children, as well as serving at The Village Church, where I am a covenant member.  I am a proud member of the Association of Biblical Counselors.

Through my own life experiences, I have discovered my greatest joy is to walk alongside people through difficult life passages using approaches that work best for the individual. I believe each person brings unique experiences, perspectives, & value to relationships & deserves an equally unique therapeutic approach.
